By appointment:
- Physician services are offered half a day each week for individuals without a family physician. Phone (506) 538-2140 to schedule an appointment.
- Nursing services including injections and dressing changes.
- VON provides a foot care clinic on the third Monday of each month at the centre. Phone (506) 536-0750 for an appointment. Physician and self referrals are accepted.
Drop-in
- Laboratory services are available every Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Educational programs are offered on an as needed, or as requested, basis.
Session dates and times are provided in the local newspaper, Sackville Tribune,
or phone (506) 538-2140 to find out when a session is being offered. Educational
sessions are booked based on interest, so please phone if interested. Drop-ins
are welcome.
Programs include:
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Cholesterol teaching and follow-up
- Diabetic health teaching
- Dietary concerns
- Weight loss issues
- Well Woman and Well Man clinics
- Arthritis self-management program
- Medication management
- Smoking cessation
- "Losin' It" weight loss support group has been in place since September 2003 with more than 20 members. Combined, they have lost more than 300 pounds.
- Monthly programs are held at the Port Elgin Regional School on such topics as nutrition education, walking groups, "Smoke Free" or diabetes education
