The Lifeline Program provides an opportunity to support independence, security and dignity of the clients in their community while maintaining continuous family and community life 24 hours a day. The service provides peace of mind for the client, his or her family and friends as they know help will be on the way with just the press of a button.
The hospital-based program at South-East Regional Health Authority has representatives located at Moncton and Sackville. Subscribers are provided with prompt and caring personal response service.
When the RC500 alarm sounds, the communication clerk in the Emergency Department at The Moncton Hospital responds immediately to identify the caller and begin the process of phoning the subscriber. These clerks offer bilingual services and are trained to dispatch help appropriately. If contact with the subscriber fails, the communication clerk will attempt to contact the responder.
If the responder is not able to be contacted, the Medical Transportation Coordination Centre will be notified and will dispatch an ambulance.
The Moncton Hospital's Emergency Department answers all Lifeline calls from the South-East Regional Health Authority.
