Talk With Me/Early Language Services Program

Talk With Me/Early Language Services ProgramLanguage skills are a strong and early predictor of school success. The preschool years are when the brain is most easily able to develop language skills. The Talk With Me/Early Language Services Program is a community-based service, accessible to, all that provides information on how babies and young children learn to talk, what parents and caregivers can do to help the process as well as to offer suggestions and advice when difficulties are suspected.

An earlier start to learning language equals a better start in school.

Who are we?
We are a team of speech-language pathologists and support personnel with extensive knowledge regarding communication development and how it impacts social skills, pre-literacy skills and life-long learning. As a parent, grandparent, early childhood educator, or a member of the community, you are part of our team too!

We offer:
  • Information about language and learning;
  • Demonstration of techniques that help language grow;
  • Workshops, training, and education regarding all aspects of communication development;
  • Referral to regional speech and language services if assessment and treatment are required;
  • ...and much more.
If you are wondering...
  • What can I do to help my baby get the best start with communication skills?
  • How can I help my grandchild speak more clearly?
  • Should I be concerned that my two-year-old is not talking?
  • Are there activities I could be doing to help develop language skills for all the children in my daycare setting?
...we can help!

This program seeks to provide up-to-date information/education in all areas of preschool communication development and to promote prevention and early identification communication delays from birth to school entry.
