CT SCANNING
Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a CAT scan take?

CAT scanning usually takes five minutes for a scan of the brain and 10 to 15 minutes for a dynamically enhanced scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvis. An intravenous (IV) may be started in the arm as most CAT examinations require an injection of contrast (X-ray dye).
