Patients experiencing a lessening of everyday skills are assessed to determine if they can safely perform self-care tasks like boiling water, using a stove or other risky household appliances. A fully-equipped kitchen is set up in the unit and often used to assess, in part, a patient's ability to safely function in real-life situations. |
