 Katherine Wright Family Wellness Centre offers breast screening and bone density testing for all women in the Greater Moncton Area. The clinic is part of South-East Regional Health Authority's multidisciplinary network of hospitals, health centres, services and programs leading the way in health promotion and education.
The clinic is a separate facility specifically designed for women's health to create a warm and comfortable environment. Caring staff and friendly volunteers, who greet women as they walk through the door, add to the clinic's
welcoming trait.
Katherine Wright Family Wellness Centre opened its doors in December 1995 as a breast screening clinic for women in the region, and quickly grew to offer bone density testing for osteoporosis in 2000. Today, three medical radiation technologists, a clerk and various volunteers work at the clinic. A breast health specialist is available, on request, to provide education and support to women undergoing breast screening, or who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The clinic offers various services, including breast screening (mammography), breast health education and bone density exams. Around 6,000 mammograms and 4,300 bone density exams take place each year.
Katherine Wright Family Wellness Centre strives to achieve excellence in providing and promoting services that improve the quality of life to women in the community.
